Cortext Platform

The CorTexT Platform
Over the past three decades, whether in the form of documents, databases, or online content, including social media, the volume of digital traces associated with the services that generate them has grown exponentially. This expansion has been accompanied by increasing sectoral diversification and the emergence of an economy and politics of attention to these traces. This digital shift has progressively led researchers in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) to redefine their research objects, methods, and skillsets. It has particularly impacted, in a pioneering way, research focused on the study of science, technology, and innovation in society, as well as their policy uses, public debates, and controversies.
The CorTexT platform was created as an original and innovative response to the challenges of the digital turn in research.

CorTexT Manager and Online Services
This tool is based on the integration—within web applications—of methods drawn from artificial intelligence, network analysis, text mining, computer science, and more recently, machine learning. The CorTexT platform is part of the European and international ecosystem of research infrastructures in the humanities and social sciences. Its growing reputation is evidenced by its impact within research communities and the recognition it receives from institutional stakeholders.
Users access it through a single interface—CorTexT Manager (https://www.cortext.net/activities-projects/cortext-manager/)—which provides a portfolio of documented analysis methods (https://docs.cortext.net/). These methods can be mobilized within collaborative analysis projects and integrated into academic production.

CorTexT Manager and Its Users
Each year, approximately 1,200 active users from 490 institutions (including universities, research labs, companies, ministries, consulting firms, journalists, and monitoring services) across 50 countries make use of our services, generating over 45,000 computations annually through our infrastructure.
Since January 2021, academic publications referencing one or more methods from the CorTexT Manager analysis suite have more than doubled compared to the average of previous years, with approximately 80 academic documents published and identified annually. Academic users account for about 10% of the overall user community (https://www.cortext.net/publications/).
