Experimental platform for rebars, cables and assembly for civil engineering
This platform is constituted by several equipments :
- Equipement 1 : A platform unique at national level dedicated to mechanical testing (5 tensile test machines able to do fatigue, up to a maximum capacity of 2500 kN with dedicated measurement systems) (https://smc.univ-gustave-eiffel.fr/en/equipment/mechanical-testing)
- Equipement 2 : Equipement dedicated to relaxation or creep testing.
- Equipement 3 : Equipement dedicated to stress corrosion or ageing under stress (according to NFA 05-30, NF EN ISO 15630-3, or in alkaline solution) and slow stress rate test (https://smc.univ-gustave-eiffel.fr/en/equipment/environmental-aging)

In detail
As far as research projects are concerned, the platform is used in public funded research projects (European projets, National French projets, or Regionally funded research projects) or industrially funded research projects.
It can be used for new materials for rebars or cables (stainless steel, Fiber Reinforced Polymer), for different methods of assembly (welding, riveting, adhesive bonding), or for the appraisal of different monitoring/NDT techniques.
As far as certification testing activities are concerned, the platform is used for the certification testing of rebars, prestressing tendons and cables, and prestressing systems (at national level with AFCAB: Association Française de Certification des Armatures du béton Armé, and ASQPE: ASsociation pour la Qualification de la Précontrainte et des Equipements, organisms).
The platform can also be used for customer trials or qualification tests.
