Logicout is a web application that enables farmers, livestock breeders and craftspeople to easily calculate the cost of deliveries for short-supply-chain sales to any outlet, such as a community-supported agriculture (CSA) scheme, a restaurant, a canteen, an open-air market, a farmers’ shop or a farm collection point. The calculation takes into account the cost per kilometre of the vehicle used, the time spent driving it, and the many other

logistical tasks involved in deliveries, such as taking orders, packaging products, preparing orders and invoicing. Logicout also calculates the quantities of greenhouse gases and air pollutants emitted during transport.
Logicout is also a decision-support tool. Knowing one’s logistics costs is not an end in itself. However, it can help to set retail prices more effectively, optimise journeys, determine whether it is cost-effective to deliver to a particular outlet, or choose the right departure time to avoid traffic problems. Logicout enables a precise analysis of the delivery practices of a producer or group of producers and allows for the evaluation of various alternative scenarios. It can then help identify delivery solutions that take less time, or even explore ways of supplying new outlets, either independently or in partnership with other producers. As such, Logicout is aimed not only at farmers, livestock farmers and craftspeople who wish to gain a better understanding of the cost of their short-supply-chain deliveries, but also at any organisation (Chamber of Agriculture, CIVAM, producers’ associations, cooperatives, web platforms, logistics providers, local authorities, etc.) that support them in finding more cost-effective and optimised solutions, or that are exploring the prospect of new markets.

Equipped with an API (Application Programming Interface), logicout can be used by other web applications.
