Platform for Multiscale analysis of soils, rocks and geotechnical structures (PEME-SRO)
The platform for analysing the mechanical properties of materials used in geotechnical structures can be used to study natural soils, treated soils, industrial by-products and sediments. It comprises three components. The Soil Mechanics cluster brings together experiments devoted to the identification and characterization of soils, whether intact or compacted, saturated or unsaturated, and under static or cyclic conditions (up to 25 Hz). The imaging and physico-chemistry cluster enables soil observation on scales ranging from the micro to the millimeter, leading to the identification of reactions between constituents, particularly in the event of treatment.

The platform in detail
The PEME-SRO is used for the experimental studies conducted in the laboratory and the site. Besides the experimental approaches, many numerical tools (modeling and visualization) are also used. Among the recent works, we can quote works on the durability of materials in particular for hydraulic structures, the reuse of excavated soil and "raw earth" in a perspective of resource saving, the behavior of geothermal structures, the use of optical fibers for the monitoring of geotechnical structures, the dynamic and seismic behavior of soils and structures, robotisation and the use of artificial intelligence for drilling.
Continuous training on laboratory or in situ soil mechanics tests (services for longlife training or companies).
Services of expertisesurveys, testing (in laboratory or in situ) and expertises of various types of clients (work constractors, civil engineering industry).
