The bench for measuring skid resistance and surface characteristics (BMACS) was created in 2000. It has a set of test equipment dedicated to the study of surface topography and tribology applied to transport . Its main field of application is the contact between tires and various types of surfaces (road pavements, aeronautical runways, metro rails, etc.).

Environmental chemistry platform

The environmental chemistry platform is open to the academic sector, local authorities and industry. It carries out analyses of metallic and plastic micropollutants present in various environmental matrices.

Immersive movements simulators (Marne-la-Vallée)

The immersive travel simulators are a multi-site equipment of Université Gustave Eiffel. Located on the Marne-la-Vallée and Versailles campuses, they allow the study of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists in a virtual environment.

Semi-anechoic room for acoustic analysis

Located on the Nantes campus of Université Gustave Eiffel, the semi-anechoic room is an acoustic test room, allowing to carry out acoustic measurements in urban models, to develop acoustic measurement devices, to characterize the acoustic emission of noise sources, etc.

Stereopolis

The IGN's Stereopolis vehicle, designed for the automatic acquisition of geo-referenced 3D imagery in urban canyons, is equipped with a set of cameras and scanning lasers that allow for a 3D reconstruction of the territory covered.

Vibration Test Bench - SySIFe - Rail Infrastructure Solicitation System

The vibration bench is used to study the dynamic behavior of structures in the area of railways.

Sense-City

Sense-City is a full-scale experimental space in representative and controllable physical conditions, dedicated to the study of micro urban areas with a high concentration of innovations. As a true open-air laboratory or under controlled conditions, this space integrates a mobile climatic chamber that can cover two 400 m² zones. This platform is open to academics, industry and local authorities and contributes to the positioning of the Cité Descartes as a flagship centre for the city of the future.

GEOCUBX

The Geocube is an ultra-sensitive device, equipped with multi-sensors and able to detect with a very high accuracy ground movements such as landslides, glacier movements or structures.

Laboratory of Simulation and Evaluation of the Environment (LSEE)

The Laboratory for Environmental Simulation and Evaluation (LSEE) is a remarkable piece of equipment that allows individuals to be immersed in an environment reproduced using images and sounds, either synthetic or recorded. It offers the possibility to study how the perceptions, decisions and behaviors of individuals are influenced by contextual factors. Experiments are thus implemented, immersing participants in a given context.

Platform for measuring pollutants from light road vehicles

The platform created in the eighties on the site of Université Gustave Eiffel Bron allows the measurement of pollutant emissions in the exhausts of light vehicles as well as the energy consumption. The measurements are possible on a simulation bench or in real conditions on the road thanks to an on-board system. This platform was co-financed by the Gustave Eiffel University, the AURA region (AAP IRICE) and ADEME.

Annual Kantar surveys and related data bases of the Université Gustave Eiffel, « Parc Auto » Panel

The "Parc Auto" longitudinal survey is carried out each year since 1984 by Kantar and Université Gustave Eiffel. It describes the car equipement and use of cars by housholds. The survey feeds the most complete database on the topic which is used in numerous researches. Data are not public and rights of use are strictly reserved.

ERTMS ( (European Rail Traffic Management System) Simulation Platform

The ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) simulation platform is an equipment composed of 3 systems that can work alone or together: a driving simulator made up of a driving console and to which a 3D restitution on a line can be associated; a traffic simulator serving as a central station for rail traffic control and train management; a test bench for ERTMS on-board equipment.

Photometry and Colorimetry platform dedicated to the characterization of road scenes

The platform of photometry and colorimetry dedicated to the characterisation of road and urban scenes is constituted mainly allowing the measurement on various surfaces or tools, the colorometry, the retroreflective performances, the factors of luminance.

Platform for Battery Characterisation and Aging Tests

This test platform allows the study of the electrical characteristics of battery cells and the phenomena leading to the degradation of these characteristics.

Geophysical test site

Unique at the European level, the site is intended for the application of methods of locating buried objects under perfectly controlled conditions: the surrounding soils are well identified and carefully compacted for their stability over time, the objects - various pipes, rocks, cavities, masonry - are perfectly located in a local geodetic reference. This makes it possible to reveal the performance of methods and equipment, to develop them, to provide data for testing or calibrating numerical models.

VERT: Vehicle for Experimental Research on Trajectories

The Vehicle for Experimental Research on Trajectories (VERT) is an instrumented vehicle dedicated to intelligent transportation systems (ITS) that is internationally recognised. Thus, it allows the acquisition and replay of GNSS signals, inertial data, digital signals, video frames, etc., for the purposes of scientific research, expertise and demonstration in geolocalization domain.

Emissions measurement platform

The purpose of the emission measurement platform is to characterise the dynamics of emissions as well as their physico-chemical nature. The pollutants considered are regulated and non-regulated compounds (heavy metals, rare earths, hydrocarbons, organic micropollutants) emitted in gaseous or particulate phase. The scientific objective of the measurements is to better understand how emissions evolve according to vehicle driving and use, regulations, and modern emission reduction devices.

Platform for Multiscale analysis of soils, rocks and geotechnical structures (PEME-SRO)

The platform for the analysis of the mechanical properties of materials used in geotechnical works allows the study of natural soils, treated soils, industrial co-products or sediments.

Digital photogrammetric camera

The digital photogrammetric camera aims to detect terrestrial phenomena by drone and to establish their shape and position by photogrammetry.

Geotechnical Centrifuge

One of the most active centrifuges in the world, analysing the behaviour of geotechnical structures such as foundations, off-shore anchors, embankments or retaining walls in a scale model.

Fatigue Carousel

The fatigue carousel, a large accelerated test facility on pavements, enables real structures to be tested under the loads of heavy vehicles. Its performance (120 m long track, loading speed of up to 100 km/h) makes it one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.

Radiation and Propagation

Located on the Cité Descartes campus in Champs-sur-Marne, the "Radiation and Propagation" platform addresses phenomena related to the propagation of radio waves in free space or in circuits and transmission lines. As an essential support for R&D, it offers trainers, researchers and industrial partners the means for rapid prototyping, simulation and electromagnetic characterisation of materials, antennas and, more generally, communicating systems.

Federative platform of microtomographic imaging for the analysis of materials and structures under multi-physical stresses

The central element of the platform hoded by Ecole des Ponts - Paristech, is a microtomograph that allows three-dimensional imaging of samples by X-ray absorption constrast. Its particular design, unique at the time of its commissioning in 2011, allows to observe on a wide range of scales the microstructures of very diverse materials and their evolution under stress.

TRANSPOLIS

Inaugurated in 2019, TRANSPOLIS is a platform for experimentation in mobility. TRANSPOLIS offers the full-scale urban mobility laboratory, the only site of its kind in Europe; test sites for vehicles and road equipment.

Cable fatigue test bench

The cable fatigue bench is a unique equipment that allows to perform real capacity tests on civil engineering cables or technical systems with cylindrical geometry (cables and anchors of bridges, off-shore installations). These tests are necessary for the validation of any innovative technical solution and ensure the durability and integrity of the product when subjected to real operating constraints such as static tension, cyclic force variation, tensile and bending forces.

Siège expérimental multi-réglable et instrumenté pour l’étude biomécanique de l’inconfort d’assise

Since 2017, the biomechanics and impact mechanics laboratory (LBMC) has had a multi-adjustable experimental seat to study seating comfort. Designed and manufactured according to specifications defined by the laboratory, this experimental seat makes it possible to simulate a wide range of seats used for land and air transport thanks to its motorized adjustments. It notably has a matrix of 52 electric cylinders to simulate the seat and a matrix of 263 hydraulic cylinders for the backrest.
