The platform created in the eighties on the site of Université Gustave Eiffel Bron allows the measurement of pollutant emissions in the exhausts of light vehicles as well as the energy consumption. The measurements are possible on a simulation bench or in real conditions on the road thanks to an on-board system. This platform was co-financed by the Gustave Eiffel University, the AURA region (AAP IRICE) and ADEME.

It notably has a matrix of 52 electric cylinders to simulate the seat and a matrix of 263 hydraulic cylinders for the backrest.
